GARMENT CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Scarlett Poppies has been crafting beautifully detailed garments with a focus on artistry, quality, and timeless design. Each piece is thoughtfully created using carefully selected materials and intricate craftsmanship, ensuring it can be cherished season after season.
With the right care, your garments can remain as elegant and vibrant as the day you first wore them.
For the love of craftsmanship and a more mindful approach to fashion, we at Scarlett Poppies are pleased to share our best garment care recommendations to help you preserve the beauty and longevity of your pieces.
Cotton is one of the most widely used fibres in Scarlett Poppies collections. As a natural and breathable material, it offers exceptional comfort, making it perfectly suited for warm-weather dressing and effortless summer wardrobes.
Washing - Simple cut and sew garments
We recommend a maximum temperature of 40°C to maintain its quality and longevity. To best preserve your garment, always wash it inside out and place it in a protective laundry bag or fabric cover to reduce friction.
Please note that certain cotton garments may experience slight shrinkage after the first wash, which is a natural characteristic of the fabric.
Washing - Intricate embroidered garments
Our embroidered pieces feature delicate craftsmanship and require extra attention. We recommend professional dry cleaning for garments with intricate embroidery or stubborn stains to ensure they are cared for with the utmost attention and preserve their delicate details.
Drying
Although machine drying is generally suitable for cotton, we recommend gentle air drying in the open air to help preserve the garment’s quality and extend its lifespan. This natural drying method is
gentler on the fibres and helps maintain the original shape and finish.
Please note that over-drying cotton can encourage shrinkage. If you choose to machine dry cotton garments, we recommend using a low heat setting to minimize this risk and protect the fabric.
Ironing
Always iron your garment inside out and use a medium heat setting (2-dot setting) to protect the fabric. For a gentler alternative, steaming is highly effective in removing wrinkles while being kind to the fibers and helping preserve the garment’s finish.
Do not directly iron on the artworks.
Breezy pure linen is derived from the flax plant, a resilient and pest-resistant crop known for its low environmental impact. Linen is a naturally strong and durable fibre, designed to age beautifully over time.
Exceptionally breathable, it absorbs moisture without feeling damp or sticky, ensuring all-day comfort. With its natural cooling effect, linen is an ideal choice for warm climates, offering a fresh and airy feel that sets it apart from many man-made fibres.
Washing - Simple Cut & Sew Garments
We recommend a maximum washing temperature of 30–40°C to maintain the quality and longevity of linen and its blends. Always wash garments inside out and place them in a protective laundry bag or fabric cover to reduce friction and preserve the fabric’s natural texture.
Please note that linen garments may experience slight shrinkage after the first wash, which is a natural characteristic of the fibre.
Washing - Intricate embroidered garments
Linen pieces with embroidery require extra care due to their delicate craftsmanship. We recommend professional dry cleaning for garments with intricate embroidery or stubborn stains to ensure the detailing is preserved and handled with the utmost care.
Drying
We recommend gentle air drying in the open air to maintain the integrity, shape, and texture of linen fabrics. Avoid tumble drying where possible, as excessive heat may weaken the fibers and cause shrinkage. If using a dryer, select a low heat setting.
Ironing
Linen naturally creases, adding to its relaxed charm. For a more refined look iron garments inside out while slightly damp, using a medium heat setting (2 dot iron).
Do not directly iron on the artworks.
Scarlett Poppies is committed to using peace silk sourced from India, a mindful and cruelty-free alternative to conventional silk. In this process, silkworms are allowed to naturally complete their life cycle and emerge from their cocoons as butterflies. Only after the cocoon has been vacated are the delicate threads carefully unwound and transformed into silk fabric.
This thoughtful approach ensures that the beauty, softness, and elegance of silk can be enjoyed while respecting the life of the silkworm. Peace silk reflects our dedication to conscious craftsmanship and a more compassionate way of creating luxury.
Washing
We recommend professional dry cleaning for pure silk garments to maintain their structure and finish. If hand washing is preferred, use cold water with a mild, silk-friendly detergent. Gently immerse the garment without rubbing, twisting, or wringing.
Drying
Do not tumble dry. Instead, gently press out excess water using a clean towel and lay the garment flat or hang it to air dry away from direct sunlight or heat, which may damage the fibers or cause fading.
Ironing
Iron silk on the reverse side while slightly damp, using a low heat setting. Alternatively, steaming is the safest method to remove wrinkles while preserving the natural drape and sheen of the fabric.
With proper care, pure silk will retain its elegance and beauty for years to come.
Cellulosic fibers such as viscose, modal, and other plant-based regenerated fibers are known for their softness, breathability, and fluid drape.
At Scarlett Poppies, we often blend viscose with cotton to improve durability while also achieving a desired crispness and structure in specific designs, without compromising comfort.
Whenever possible, we use FSC®-certified viscose (Forest Stewardship Council certified). This ensures responsible sourcing, where for every tree harvested, a new one is planted—supporting sustainable forestry and helping preserve forests for future generations.

Drying
Do not tumble dry, as heat and agitation can cause shrinkage and misshaping. Instead, gently reshape the garment while damp and lay it flat to dry on a clean surface, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
Ironing / Steaming
If needed, use a steamer to gently refresh the knit and remove wrinkles. If ironing, use a low heat setting and always place a cloth between the iron and the garment to protect the fibers.
With proper care, knitted garments will retain their softness, structure, and comfort for seasons to come.
Wool is a natural, breathable fibre known for its warmth, softness, and durability. It provides natural warmth while remaining breathable, ensuring comfort across changing temperatures.
With the right care, wool garments can retain their shape and beauty for many seasons.

At Scarlett Poppies, we are committed to using only genuine leather, carefully selected for its quality, texture, and longevity. We feature premium materials such as soft lamb nappa, durable goat leather, and finely finished cow suede—each chosen for its unique character and refined feel.
These natural materials are designed to age beautifully over time, developing a unique patina that enhances their charm. With mindful craftsmanship and careful sourcing, our leather pieces reflect a balance of luxury, durability, and timeless style.
Cleaning
We recommend professional leather or suede cleaning for all garments to preserve their finish and structure. Avoid machine washing or immersing in water, as this may damage the material.
Spot Care
For minor marks, gently wipe leather with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. For suede, use a suede brush to softly lift dirt and restore the nap. Avoid using harsh chemicals or excess moisture.
Drying
Keep away from direct heat sources such as radiators or sunlight, as this can cause drying, cracking, or discoloration. If the garment becomes damp, allow it to air dry naturally at room temperature.
Storage
Store leather and suede garments on padded hangers to maintain their shape. Keep them in a cool, dry place and avoid plastic covers—use breathable garment bags instead.
With mindful care, leather and suede garments will retain their elegance and continue to improve with age.
