CHITRA TOP
The Chitra Top is a resort piece built around one of craft's most demanding techniques. Cut from cotton linen in two colourways — a deep contrast of dark ground and warm tan cutwork, and a quieter tone-on-tone — it carries its embroidery at the front in a cutwork placement, each element of the design precisely removed and finished by hand to create a pattern that is defined by what is taken away as much as what remains. A cropped V-neck silhouette with voluminous sleeves balances delicacy with ease, and two self-fabric rolled tie strings at the front fasten the piece with a relaxed, considered finish. A top that is entirely resort in spirit and entirely artisanal in its making.
